If like me you’ve tried every weight loss gadget or gizmo out there you know there’s no miracle cure for shedding the fat or more importantly feeling your absolute best. You’ve counted your macros and calories, bought that ‘goal outfit’ and tried every fad diet your Instagram feed has compelled you to double tap.
The best thing about getting older is finally (hopefully) finding what works for you and more importantly what doesn’t. Feeling and being confident in your body at any size is truly and gift and not something your ‘waist trainer’/ ‘fat burning pills’ (all of which don’t work by the way) can give you. Who wants to squeeze into an oxygen restricting gadget for 8 hours a day anyway? (Guilty as charged!)
Appreciate all the wonderful things your body is capable of, acknowledge your strengths and weaknesses and literally keep it moving. Constantly body bashing, tugging at your tummy rolls and speaking negatively about yourself and your body will set you up for a lifetime of unhappiness.
By all means challenge yourself, treat your body with respect, nourish it and move it! Don’t punish it, deprive it or set it unachievable tasks. Relish in the broadness of your shoulders, that perky bum all your friends probably envy and that smile that lights up the room. Bask in the fact that you are awesome, your body is powerful and your mind – a work of art. Feed your mind, body and soul. ‘Love the body you are in- it’s the only place you have to live’~ Namaste
